Zoran Rakić, PhD, acquired his higher education at the Russian National Academy of Music “Gnjesinih” in Moscow (graduated in 1990, finished master studies in 1994 and doctoral studies in 2004). He is in the academic university title of full professor. He is the author of six accordion course books for elementary music schools and of numerous music collections and professional literature.

His students and pupils have realized remarkable results - more than 400 prizes, including 269 victories, special and first prizes at numerous competitions and festivals. He won numerous prizes and acknowledgements (148).

By now, he has been a jury member for 145 times in Serbia, China, Australia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Greece, Italy, France, Macedonia, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania, Poland, Great Britain and Croatia. For 67 times he has been a lecturer at seminars, master classes, winter and summer schools or participant at scientific and professional meetings in the country and abroad (Serbia, Croatia, Poland, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine, Slovenia and Russia). He is a member of editorial board in international scientific magazines in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ukraine and Russia.

In December 2011 he was appointed as an Honoured Professor of the Belgorod State Institute for Arts and Culture (Russia). From 2006 to 2015, he was at the position of the Dean of the Academy of Music, University of East Sarajevo, in East Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He is full professor at University of Kragujevac, Faculty for philology and arts (Serbia), honoured professor at the Belgorod State Institute for Arts and Culture (Russia) and guest professor at the University of Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
